Willyn Whiting (he\/him) is a Canadian composer of both acoustic and electronic music. His works feature diverse stylistic trends and personal conceptualizations of metaphor and orientation. <\/span>
<\/summary>\n

Over the years he has written for both professional and emerging ensembles including the Bozzini Quartet<\/strong><\/a>, Del Sol String Quartet<\/strong><\/a>, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra<\/strong><\/a>, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra<\/strong><\/a>, and RE: duo<\/strong><\/a>. His music been featured at such festivals as the Winnipeg New Music Festival<\/em> (CA), the Manchester Theatre in Sound Festival<\/em> (UK), the Resilience Festival<\/em> (IT), the annual conference of the Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States<\/em> (US), the Electronic Music Midwest Festival<\/em> (US), Napoleon Electronic Media Festival<\/em> (US) and the SPLICE Institute<\/em> (US) and Canadian workshops such as Orford Academy<\/em>, Montr\u00e9al Contemporary Music Lab<\/em>, and Domaine Forget de Charlevoix<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His teachers include Jon Nelson<\/strong><\/a>, Joseph Klein<\/strong><\/a>, Panayiotis Kokoras<\/strong><\/a>, Kirsten Soriano<\/strong><\/a>, Paul Frehner<\/strong><\/a>, Gary Kulesha<\/strong><\/a>, James Rolfe<\/strong><\/a>, and Vincent Ho<\/strong><\/a>, among others.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
