Ein musikalischer Ausklang zur Ausstellung “Searching Myself” von Johann Rausch
A musical conclusion to the exhibition “Searching Myself” by Johann Rausch
The newly commissioned pieces were performed in different rooms of the BRUSEUM, highlighting different aspects and relationships between the artwork and the compositions. The audience was led through the different rooms of the exhibition and were given a personalized tour by the curator of the BRUSEUM, Roman Grabner.
“With Johann Rausch, the BRUSEUM presents an Austrian artist who has been continuously producing art at an international level for 40 years and yet is completely unknown. He has only once dared to go public with a cycle of works in a Viennese gallery in 1995, but withdrew again immediately afterwards. Rausch, who in his main profession was one of the most influential figures in the Austrian advertising landscape, never sought publicity for his art. In the silence of his studio and various hotel rooms scattered around the globe, he nevertheless devoted himself to his art on a daily basis. His extensive series of works reveal a meticulous and critical examination of the essential themes of human existence and a constant struggle for sustainable, aesthetic solutions. The exhibition Johannes Rausch. Searching Myself is the first comprehensive presentation of this unknown oeuvre and can be seen as a minor sensation in the Austrian art landscape.” (BRUSEUM)
